Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore is a Hollywood writer and actress who's talent has brought her recognition and critical acclaim. Sagittarius. She was born in North Carolina, on 3rd December, 1960. She's the oldest of three siblings born to Peter Moore Smith, a paratrooper, and Anne a psychologist. She has English and Scottish ancestry. Her father was a professional and moved her family a lot. It was a struggle to make or keeping her friendships. Moore's family moved into Germany and she attended Frankfurt American High School, where her first acting opportunities were on stage in productions. Her education continued at Boston University where she graduated in 1983, with a B.F.A. A thesis on Theater. Moore's professional career started with her debut in New York with Off-Broadway Theater after graduating. In an episode of The Edge of Night in 1985, she made her first on-screen appearance. In 1986 she was cast in the dual role of Sabrina Hughes, and Frannie Hughes for As the World Spins. This role gave her an opportunity that ultimately led to her achievement. It ran through 1988 and won the Daytime Emmy Award. In 1990, her first cinematic appearance was in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie. The film she later described as a bad low-budget production. The film was followed by Short Cuts (1993) and 3 Women (1997) both produced by Robert Altman. Her role in critically acclaimed Short Cuts (1993) brought her a number of nominations. Moore got her first role in the role of a leading lady for the film Safe (1996).
